Build a canvas from a dataset

Turn a CSV, Excel file, Google Sheet, Google Analytics or Search Console report into a canvas of charts in one step.

1Upload a file or import a Google Sheet, Google Analytics or Search Console report. Choose “Build a canvas” when it is offered, even while the data is still importing. You can also choose “Build canvas” on the dataset’s page at any time.
2Check the canvas name and choose “Create canvas”. The new canvas opens straight away.
3Wait while DashboardGPT picks the charts that fit your data and checks each one returns results. Choose “Keep working” to hide the progress while it finishes.

Tips

A canvas gets up to eight charts, then a “More insights” section with up to six more.
On the Explore plan, and during a trial, the “More insights” charts are blurred and locked. Their titles stay visible; choose “Included in Team” to see the plans.
Every chart is an ordinary chart: move it, edit it, filter it or ask the assistant about it. Editing a “More insights” chart makes it a regular chart.
Asked for before the data is in? The canvas opens straight away, says it is waiting for your data, and fills as soon as the import finishes.
Google Analytics and Search Console reports get charts that suit them: weekly trends of each measure, click-through rate and position averaged the way Google reports them, and the top queries, pages or sources.
If the build fails, choose “Try again” or delete the canvas. Your dataset is never changed.
Building a canvas needs editor access to the workspace.
