Why did gross margin fall in Q3?

Shipping cost per order in EMEA rose 22% from July. Hardware also grew from 18% to 26% of revenue, and it has a lower margin. Together these explain most of the 2.6-point drop.

Before you trust it

The three questions executives ask us first

You won't put a number in front of your board, or your data in front of an AI, without straight answers. Here they are.

  • Will it look good enough to show my board?

    • A full canvas in one step. Upload a spreadsheet and DashboardGPT builds a canvas of headline figures, trends and breakdowns made for that data.
    • The right chart, chosen for you. Trends become lines, comparisons become bars. Ask “make it a bar chart” to change it.
    • Ready for the board pack. Save the canvas as a PDF, email it on a schedule, or publish it as an Apache Superset dashboard with a link that stays the same.
  • Will my data be used to train AI models?

    • No. Your data is used to answer your questions, never to train AI models. When you bring your own AI key, requests go to that provider under the agreement you hold with them.
    • The AI never sees your file. It receives your question, a description of the columns with a few sample values, and the summarised result. Not the file.
    • Use your own AI account if you prefer. Bring your company's AI key, and model use is billed by that provider under your own terms.
  • Where does my data go, and who can see it?

    • It stays in your workspace. Each company is a separate workspace. Data, canvases and conversations never leave it.
    • Encrypted, with access you control. Encrypted in transit and at rest. On the Team plan, workspace roles decide who can add data and who can see what.
    • Or on your own servers. Run DashboardGPT inside your network, even fully offline with a local AI model.

The waiting problem

Your decisions shouldn't wait in a queue

The question comes up on Monday. The answer arrives on Thursday. By then the decision is already made, on gut feel and last month's numbers.

  • If you have analysts

They're busy with last week's requests

Your question joins the list. Each follow-up costs another few days.

  • If you don't

    You're the analyst, at 11 p.m.

You build the pivot table yourself and hope the formula is right.

With DashboardGPT, you ask the question yourself. Follow-ups keep the chart, the filters and the period.

  • CEO

Which regions are behind plan this quarter?

  • CFO

Show gross margin by product line, quarter over quarter.

  • CFO

How many months of runway do we have at the current burn?

  • Sales leader

Which large deals have stalled, and at which stage?

  • COO

Where did fulfilment time get worse last month?

  • Founder

How is net revenue retention trending by plan?

The canvas

A canvas you'd put in front of your board

Clear, not crowded. Every chart answers one question, and you decide what stays.

  • Built from one spreadsheet

Upload an Excel file or connect a Google Sheet. You get a first canvas straight away: totals, trends over time and the main breakdowns.

  • Change it by asking

“Show it by quarter.” “Only enterprise customers.” “Make it a bar chart.” The chart updates in place.

  • Arrange it your way

Move, resize and group charts on the canvas. Add a note beside the number that needs context.

  • Explanations, not only charts

Ask “what caused the decline?” and get the reason with the numbers behind it.

  • In the inbox every Monday

On the Team plan, schedule the canvas to your leadership team, with a short written summary of what changed and a PDF.

  • A live link for the team

Publish any canvas as an Apache Superset dashboard in one click. The link stays the same when you update it.

Numbers you can defend

Before you say a number out loud, check it

  • See how every number was calculated

Open “How it's calculated” on any chart to see the measure, the filters, the date range and the figures it came from.

  • It asks when a question is unclear

“Revenue” could mean gross or net. DashboardGPT asks which one you mean before it answers.

  • Calculated, not guessed

Every answer comes from a real query run on your data, on Apache Superset, the open-source analytics engine first built at Airbnb.

Your data stays yours

Exactly what happens to your data

  • Separate workspace for your company

Datasets, canvases and conversations are scoped to your workspace. Queries run inside that boundary.

  • Encrypted and access-controlled

Uploads travel over TLS and are encrypted at rest. On the Team plan, workspace roles decide who can connect data, run analysis and share canvases.

  • Your AI key, your terms

Use your company's own AI provider account. Usage is billed to you, and an admin can rotate or revoke the key at any time.

  • Your servers, if you need it

Self-host with Docker Compose or Kubernetes, or run fully air-gapped with a local AI model. Data and prompts stay inside your network.

  • Straight about what we have

DashboardGPT is an early-stage product. We list the controls that exist today, not badges we haven't earned. If you have a compliance requirement, ask us before you commit.

FAQ

What leaders ask before they start

Common questions

No. Your data is used to answer your questions. The AI receives your question, a description of the columns with a few sample values and the summarised result, never your file. When you bring your own AI key, requests go to that provider under the agreement you hold with them.

Excel files and CSV files on every plan, and Google Sheets on the Team plan. It works best with a data export: one header row, then one row per record.

In your company's own workspace, encrypted at rest. If your data must stay on your premises, run DashboardGPT on your own servers, including fully offline with a local AI model.

Yes. DashboardGPT picks the chart type that fits each answer, and you can change any chart by asking. Save a PDF for the board pack, email it on a schedule, or publish it as an Apache Superset dashboard with a live link.

Open “How it's calculated” on any chart to see the measure, filters, period and source rows. If a question could mean two things, DashboardGPT asks before it answers. AI can still get things wrong, so check key numbers before you share them.

No. If you can ask a colleague a question, you can use DashboardGPT. Try the live demo: it opens on demo data and needs no account.

It takes the routine questions off their list, so they can work on the analysis that needs them. Teams without analysts get answers they couldn't get before.

Every new account starts on a free 15-day Team trial with no card. When it ends, choose the free Explore plan or Team and carry on where you left off.

Get the answer before the meeting, not after it.

Open the live demo and ask your first question. No account, no install, no card.
